Hi, and welcome

you with an insight into the day to day activities of our club which is based North West of the city of Manchester and is a registered satellite centre for the RSGB examinations.

We organise two
Rallies each year, The Red Rose Winter Rally, held in
January, and the smaller Red Rose QRP festival to promote low power operating and home construction, held in Summer. Both are popular events in the area and attract
amateurs from as far afield as the south coast.
Next Rally - The Red Rose Rally, Trafford, January 2017.

The 'museums on the air' from Astley Green colliery museum was another sucessful event. With the club using the new portable mast. The team were active on 2m, 6m and HF. This popular event has the added attraction of a trip around the museums exhibits, including the excellent winding engine. View certificate here
We are sad to report that our friend, colleague, and past Treasurer, "Partha", has passed away. His funeral was at Howe Bridge Crematorium on the 20th May 2016 and the wake was held back here at the club where we exchanged our fond memories of a lovely man. Our condolences to Winefride and all of the family. In his memory we have sent a donation to the dialysis team at Salford Royal Infirmary.
